Words and images are inseperable. I fell in love with creating images before creating words, though I always appreciated the latter. Southern expressions and stories from my mom's and dad's upbringing (Polish and Southern, respectively), always intrigued me. An eighth grade writing assignment hooked me on writing.
Write, Submit
(c) Dion McInnis 2003
I know what to do. Write. Submit. Write. Submit.
Check the mailbox a time or two
Per week,
Not for the weak.
Write. Submit. Write. Submit.
Develop new ways to track the submissions, stack the rejections, and
Stoke the fires to continue.
I cannot not write, but I can not submit
Which transforms hunger to starvation, oblivion to the anonymous.
Write. Submit. Write. Submit.
If money be the motivation. If publication be the goal.
Write, write, write, write,
Is where my heart and soul lead me.
Write. Submit. Write. Submit:
Mortgage, expenses, dependents in this time of independence.
Write. Submit. Submit. Submit.
Words flow into product to submit to the buyers
And when the flow becomes a trickle,
I know what to do.
Query. Submit. Query. Submit.
Check the mailbox a time or two
Per week.
Not for the weak.
