… helping congregations and organizations find their stories of faith for personal growth, courage and the ability to share with the world. (And helping faith-aligned business team members’ find and live by the lessons of their faith stories.)

Decades ago, a colleague told me about some church classes that she was taking.  The instructor had told the class that people bring Christ to others.  Church doesn’t, hymns don’t, studying doesn’t … people bring Christ to people.  She finished her story with, “I told him about you, Dion.  I hope you don’t mind.”  I was taken aback.

Paul challenges us to not divide Christ (1 Corinthians 1:13) with various loyalties within the Church.  Indeed our role is to carry Christ and grow the Church.

I believe we are called to carry Christ to one another; I believe one of the best ways to do that is through personal stories, both sublime and profound; and, I believe most people need the tools of reflection and clarity to find their stories before they can share them.  I developed my programs for churches and organizations to use when their goal is to develop of believers who have the courage and clarity to articulate and share their own stories of faith, i.e., becoming Christ-bearers.

Several elements comprise the full program.  The program is customizable … utilize what best serves the vision, plans, calling and conditions of the church or organization.

The listings below focus on churches, but similar delineation of options are available for businesses, too, e.g., for leaders, team members and customers. Learn more about the focus for faith-aligned businesses here, or print the promotional flyer here.

The elements include:

Developing the Leadership

Church leadership (ministers and staff) play a critical role in modeling the ability to share their faith in the moments provided to them.  Whether to a group through a formal presentation, or with an individual in a random visit or call, the church leaders need to be able to access a variety of stories that reveal their own faith journey.  By adapting the LIFElines model to the specialized needs of church leaders, they will learn how to find and articulate various stories from their life that will touch others and carry Christ to others. A similar process is available for business and organization leaders.

Targeting Groups

Most active churches have a variety of groups that involve social and educational activities.  The Program includes sessions using the LIFElines model, adapted to the specific theme and/or subject of the group(s) to help the participants better connect their subject interest with their calling to carry Christ to others.

Targeting Audiences

The program includes special, focused elements for specific groups:

  • Soon to be Married.  Using the LIFElines model of revealing one’s life, this element guides couples through understanding themselves and their families of origin in unique ways that also help them understand, for themselves and their partner, why they have become the people they are, and how they envision their futures.  Using the LIFElines approach to revealing their lives, writing and conversing, this program is thoughtful, engaging and enlightening.
  • Dads and Father Figures:  Based on two books — The Holy Bible and Daddin’:  The Verb of Being a Dad — this element examines our Scriptural call to fatherhood along with the verbs and concepts of the Daddin’ book.  Not only is this for all men (no matter the age or whether a parent, all men are viewed by some child(ren) as “That is the kind of man I want to be”), but the program can be expanded into a family event that can include moms and children.  Contact me for more info on how to customize this to your congregation’s need.
  • Seniors, Elders and Cross-generation:  The LIFElines tools were originally developed for a writing workshop for seniors, titled Memories to Memoirs ™. The process helps seniors and elders see their lives in different ways that inspire the future, put into context the challenges of life, and clarify their purpose.  The process makes for a wonderful  way for them to convey their life’s story for themselves or family members.  Offered as a cross-generational offering, this element can also connect generations, bridge for understanding and verbalize love and caring.

A Call to All

Envision a gathering of the majority of your church’s congregation, experiencing the clarity of their lives and their faith in personal ways that strengthen and enthuse them to heed the call of Christ to His Apostles.  Starting with a prayer to give thanks and to request the power of the Trinity, this large-group workshop/event guides everyone through the LIFElines model to help them see how their lives have positioned them perfectly to answer God’s call.  More than just clarity of faith, this program brings clarity about life, callings and living.

What’s included?

  • LIFElines:  Empowering All Aspects of Your Life:  Everyone involved in any of the programs above can be provided a copy of my book.  This is priced separately, depending on the quantity needed.  These are priced affordably so everyone can use the book as a reference and reminder to the power and applications of LIFElines.
  • Handouts and guides:  Attendees receive materials for each program to lead through the processes and to serve as resources to take home.

What next?

Each church’s leader has a vision and direction, and an understanding of his/her congregation that will influence which of the elements to choose.  Contact me at Dion@DionMcInnis.com or at 832-877-8821 to discuss your goals for the Program.  We can then customize a package that best suits your needs.
